Hi there! My name is Johanna, and I am the owner of Bright Minds Assessment. I am a wife, mother of three + licensed educational psychologist. I graduated from Pepperdine University in 1996 with my B.A. in Psychology and I received my M.A. in Counseling in 1998 and my M.A. in Educational Psychology in 1999, both from Loyola Marymount University. I worked in the public school system for 20 years as a school psychologist, before moving into administration roles as both a Program Specialist and a Director of Special Education Assessments.
I pursued my license to work privately as an Educational Psychologist because I have always felt a pull to help families become empowered to take charge of their child's education.
I specialize in the evaluation and diagnosis of learning disorders, like dyslexia. I am also available to complete full psycho-educational evaluations and Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs). I offer educational consultations and coaching services to those who need some guidance navigating the often confusing world of special education, IEPs and 504 Accommodation Plans.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for an initial 20 minute consultation, free of charge.
